  1. I am not one to quibble about mud, Beth, but they should have made it on the anniversary of the original Woodstock festival. Or the 25th anniversary edition, which I wallowed through in Saugerties, N.Y., after which I returned with the saying: “I didn’t cover Woodstock II, it covered me.”

Thanks for making me aware of International Mud Day.

  2. Fantastic post! I was trying to explain what a mud kitchen was to someone only the other day. Mud is the stuff of life. I still love the myth that we started from clay and were fashioned from mud.

  4. Beth love the photos and the quote and my kids still like mud. I remember making mud pies as a child….my father would dig a huge hole and fill it with water…..Nine little siblings in a mud hole, we would think it was christmas.

  5. Ya know Beth, back in the Day, when I was a ‘Tadpole,’ trying to become a ‘Frog Man,’ (SEAL), they used to call me ‘Mud-Guppy’
    Hahahah
    Just a fun fact.
