I am not one to quibble about mud, Beth, but they should have made it on the anniversary of the original Woodstock festival. Or the 25th anniversary edition, which I wallowed through in Saugerties, N.Y., after which I returned with the saying: “I didn’t cover Woodstock II, it covered me.”
Thanks for making me aware of International Mud Day.

Fantastic post! I was trying to explain what a mud kitchen was to someone only the other day. Mud is the stuff of life. I still love the myth that we started from clay and were fashioned from mud.

I think that’s why I like to garden so much. Are you being affected by the heavy rains?
LikeLike
me too, sheri, it gives me another reason to get in the mud. rains not too bad in our part of the country, really so far, it’s just been enough to make things lush and green.

The last image, the young one with his goggles … So unique. He looks like a little wild man. Good job, Beth. I learned two new prolific expressions, on your blog: “mud-lucious” and puddle-wonderful”.

Beth love the photos and the quote and my kids still like mud. I remember making mud pies as a child….my father would dig a huge hole and fill it with water…..Nine little siblings in a mud hole, we would think it was christmas.
