Love kayaks and canoes – they are so non-invasive , you become a part of all the life and environment around (as opposed to a motor-boat). They are awesome to enjoy life – yours and nature’s.
Beautiful Beth (and Pooh is a fav of mine) 😀 Thank You.
Canoeing or kayaking on a lazy river under the blue sky….I love doing that too.
I’ve never been interested in going out on “white water” with swirling water, rocks, and waterfalls.
I get enough excitement from regular life. When I go out on the water, I just want to relax and enjoy.
i love it, and i actually love whitewater once in a while too, but it’s the total opposite experience. this was perfect after such a bustling weekend in town. thanks for reading and commenting, mary )
Ah, yes! Lazy river in the noon day sun. Lazy, lazy river by the old mill run. I remember it well. Thanks for liking Telephone Killer – Excerpt 29 on papermudandme.wordpress.com. – Thanks again and Aloha – pjs.
It looks like you had this section of the river to yourself, as far as humans go. I love all the ‘critters’ you ran into, Beth! I particularly like herons, they are special to me. I am so glad you enjoyed your kayaking get-away, Beth!
The Huron River is a 130-mile-long (210 km) river in southeastern Michigan, rising out of the Huron Swamp in Indian Springs Metropark in northern Oakland County and flowing into Lake Erie.
The river was named after the Huron band of Native Americans who lived in the area. In Native languages, it was called cos-scut-e-nong sebee or Giwitatigweiasibi. It was part of a Native American trade route.
I have kyacked a couple of times with Mr. S, but woah are arm and shoulder muscles required for any great distance. I usually just sit, like in a gondola letting him do all the work. 🙂 x
Wow…that would be fun.
