  1. I had a sarcastic co-worker who once said to me after I had espoused on a pet topic of mine at the office: ” There you go missing yet another opportunity to keep your mouth shut.”

  2. The first is what galls me the most. I often open my mouth without thinking! The subject always reminds me of something my father often quoted (Confucious?): ‘Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all possible doubt.’ 😀 I don’t adhere to this nearly often enough!

  3. It is truthfully a no win situation. I recently took the bull by the horns and asked my brother a question many others around me had asked me about my brothers actions. The result was not what I hoped for but at least it showed his true nature and intent. So I think I would have been better to stay quiet.

  4. Beth … There’s many times when I’ve woken up at 3 a.m. and had the perfect comeback. But there are many more times when I’m glad I resisted the impulse to say what I was thinking. You cannot ‘unsay’ something, no matter how much you try. 😉
