I have had so many people in my life who hate or are afraid of clowns. They don’t scare me but this somehow helps me to just laugh at this creepy old clown graveyard and clown motel. Wow, maybe the quote fits my children and grandchildren’s fears.
For some reason I am amused by the way one of them ‘hates’ or ‘is scared to death’ of Chuck E. Cheese, Beth!
Oh, once I was stuck in a weird small town with my ex-husband and five of our six children on a Friday night, when the part for our broken down station wagon would not even be ORDERED until Monday. We walked down main street while it was about 100 degrees, both of us laughed because we saw curtains moving… smiles!

Beth … I cannot even imagine trying to sleep there. We went to one place where we felt like packing up in the middle of the night. But it was because of a ruckus raised by folks in the motel room across from us and the cops being called. Yikes!
I love doing genealogy so graveyards are fascinating! But clowns are the absolute creepiest! LOL I’ve been through Tonopah years and years ago but I sure don’t ever remember seeing that motel (thank goodness)! 🙂
I am not really afraid of anything like that, but I know some who are. I’m not sure what, if anything tangible i’m afraid of, fear of anything happening my children is probably the only one I can think of.
I have a friend that collects clowns and I can never find a comfortable seat in her house. I know it has to do with not wanting to put my back to one of them. Totally absurd. They are all porcelain and it’s not like they are going to turn into adult sized monsters anytime soon.
I’m sorry, but the world has no need for clowns. They completely freak me out. No way, no how do I want to be around one. I wouldnt stay in a clown hotel for love or money.
I’m not a fan of clowns either Beth. I can tolerate them (and a few individual ones I even like – such as Red Skeleton’s ) but will not seek them out and will avoid them when possible. Cool post.
Beware any motel with the word clown in the name and the rate of 34.50 plus tax for a single, with a mini breakfast and DirecTv as perks, yet! Oh Beth, what a classic you set yourself up for with this one. ;-(

Ditto on the first three. Remote location I’m ok with as long as no clowns make an appearance. There’s just something about them.

I know a guy who is afraid of clowns. Thought it strange at first, then learned many other people are as well. 😦

I especially like the first quote. Much wisdom is contained in those few words. Thank you for sharing it, Beth.

I don’t have a fear of clowns or cemeteries, perhaps a seedy motel would do it though 💚

Now all they need at the Clown Motel is a sign that points to the creepy old graveyard. Or maybe it’s a creepy old graveyard for clowns! 😉
