i went with mg
to explore
the old greenhouse
long
untouched
and
there
we discovered
all kinds
of interesting artifacts
from past eras
when
suddenly
he
warned me
not to
turn around
and
i imagined
every kind
of
horrible
gruesome
thing
lying there
but
i had to look
couldn’t
help myself
and
when
i turned
i saw
this
hideous
terrifying
clown puzzle
that had been
left behind
and
and i’d
venture to say
it was
abandoned
for a good reason
and
never missed
by anyone.

My friend is afraid of clowns… Like, really. She can’t see them anywhere. I’m fine with it, although I can imagine why someone would fear them 🙂

I think people are afraid of clowns because they are smiling but somehow look sad… If that makes sense?

Honestly, Beth, when I get a like or follow from a person with a clown gravatar, I just pass it by completely. Because what good can come of a person who likes clowns?

So scary for you, Beth–can I purchase the painting for the clown art collection in my den/humor staging area? Think about it. 😉

I have mixed feelings about clowns. I do agree for the most part, my children were scared of them! But, I do feel the song, “Tracks of the Tears of the Clown,” gave me a sympathetic feeling for them. Also, when I was a little girl I loved the Jack in the Box, the song while you twirled the red wooden knob on the metal handle around until out it popped made me smile, Beth.

Maybe the Jack in the box is a jester but to me, he looks like a clown, Beth.

Never did like clowns. To me they aren’t funny at all. Love the Mark Twain quote.

I’m in a private FB group, and someone in it got a message from Clowns for Christ, with a similar picture and an indication that the clowns were praying for her. We all thought it was VERY creepy.

I admire your courage. I would have been tempted to turn and look as well. But … a picture of clowns? I know a few of my students who would just freak if they had seen that. 😉
