i went with mg

to explore

the old greenhouse

 long

untouched

and

there

we discovered

all kinds

of interesting artifacts

from past eras

when

suddenly

he

warned me

not to

turn around

and

i imagined

every kind

of

horrible

gruesome

thing

lying there

but

i had to look

couldn’t

help myself

and

when

i turned

i saw

this

hideous

terrifying

clown puzzle

that had been

left behind

and

and i’d

venture to say

it was

abandoned

for a good reason

and

never missed

by anyone.

mastery of fear,

not absence of fear.

    • thanks, ermine. if i had met you early in life you might have changed my feeling about clowns. seriously, you are the only one of that breed who i don’ t fear. ) the picture in the blog is actually from the box of a clown puzzle we found. i’ll do my best to go get it and i’d be happy to mail it off to you, no charge, for your collection. email me your home address and i’ll send it off one day soon )

  1. I have mixed feelings about clowns. I do agree for the most part, my children were scared of them! But, I do feel the song, “Tracks of the Tears of the Clown,” gave me a sympathetic feeling for them. Also, when I was a little girl I loved the Jack in the Box, the song while you twirled the red wooden knob on the metal handle around until out it popped made me smile, Beth.
