the children run as fast as they can
to see their new playground
for the very first time.
every day should have a moment like this.

with time, many of the facts I learned were forgotten
but I never lost the excitement of discovery.

” full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm”- Kurt Cobain about his daughter. Seeing the world through a child’s eyes, ready to discover is a habit we struggle to adopt yet the best way to see the world… to learn

I love that quote. I’ve always thought discovering was more wonder filled than knowing. I taught myself to play the piano, and it took forever, but it was such a great voyage and if I had been merely taught I think I would have missed so many experiences and emotions on the way. It is my approach to many things which can be both positive and negative of course 🙂

I look forward to moments like this every day. Grant it, some moments are a little more grand than others. But, even a little bit of grand is pretty sweet.

The excitement of discovery, of seeing something the first time or thru “new” eyes (usually when you’re with children) is a wonderful feeling. 😉

This reminds me of the time my son was a toddler and came down the stairs Christmas morning and noticed the train table Santa had left. His little legs in his feetsie pajamas moved so fast, navigating the furniture, to get to the table under the tree. It was so sweet. The image is clear as day in my head. Pure happiness.
