we went outside

on a class hike

 touched stuff

 picked up things

 fell down

 rolled

ran

 played in the water

saw some pretty little stuff

and saw some big and beautiful stuff

IMG_0943

and tried to figure out

how to get way up there

IMG_0947

 then we found this

and

think it was a message

left for us

and decided it was true

 and our adventure

was even better.

land is the secure ground of home, the sea is like life,

the outside, the unknown.

  1. Maria Montessori was right. Get the kids outside – so they can learn and grow up to be healthy, knowledgable, and aware adults. Love your verse!
(PS while carving graffiti into trees is frown upon as defacing nature, the tree will grow and cover the human made scars. Nice message in the words – certainly a serendipity discovery to charm – also a great time to talk with kids about good intentions, right place and right time, and protecting the environment,….but it does make you smile.)
