at the community tree lighting
with singing and people and candles and chilly air
and then this guy snuck in
—
our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred,
and we are better throughout the year for having,
in spirit, become a child again at christmas-time.

So right, Beth 🙂 It was the same for me. I remember 🙂

I’m not so sure about that. The chintzy 3 foot TV or table top tree was depressing.

I’m sure the guy in red then stole the show! It’s funny how many bad Santas there are out there… hope he was at least a good one! lol

We had high ceilings in my childhood home, but we still had 30-foot Christmas trees. As an adult, I often wondered why I couldn’t re-create those wondrous trees …

It’s so easy to get caught up in the materialism of this season. I’m making every effort this year to chill out and be grateful. No stressing allowed!

You’re right, doesn’t matter the height, to a child everything is enormous and spectacular. 🌲

Love Laura Ingalls Wilder. Our house is all abuzz Beth. We have higher ceilings this year and a tall Christmas tree is requested…I love seeing it through the eyes of my children. We are focusing on donating some of our allowance towards charity.
