as another school year
draws to a close
my time on the bus
is almost over
and
i think
i’ll miss
all the action:
who sits with who
who lost their coat
who forgot their bag
who needs a band-aid
who has the wrong bag
who sat by the window last
who didn’t bring their boots
who has trouble sitting at all
who was supposed to stay at school
who is crying, laughing, squealing, bouncing?
it might be me.

The end of another school year is always a bittersweet time. Busy planning summer activities as well! 🙂

Love this! You’re right in there with them, aren’t you? I wish we could organize a Bus Day, when all us bloggers tell one story from our time on a school bus.

You think it will never end and suddenly the finish line appears.
I hope it was a good year for all of you. Enjoy the break when it comes.

That would be the team of teachers giving a group hug goodbye, moments later playing, “School’s Out for Summer!”

You ride the bus? You are a brave teacher indeed. How adorably you describe the emotional torrents of a young child’s life.
