are you familiar with the saying “common sense is not that common”?
celebrate this rarely used quality on november 4, common sense day.
the date coincides with the birth date of actor will rogers
who was thought to have coined this phrase.
how to celebrate?
well, what can be said?
use your common sense to celebrate this unofficial holiday.
did you know…
…that thomas paine wrote a pamphlet called common sense in 1776?
in it, he drew out the need for independence of
the 13 british colonies in north america from britain.
the pamphlet is thought to have inspired the american revolution.
i wish that the celebration of common sense
would carry over to november 8th,
our upcoming election day in the united states.

I have long advocated for the return of common sense. You do it beautifully and I wish this would go “viral”.

Common sense has flown out the window when choosing a candidate, but otherwise common sense is good even in humor. Thank you I liked this.

I watched The Chew yesterday, and Michael Symon gave a great quote his dad taught him about losing (after his Cleveland Indians lost the World Series). I sure wish I’d written it down, but it was basically “Be good at winning, AND good at losing.” Because we do plenty of both in life.

The rest of the world is very worried that 50% of American voters will be crazy enough to elect a crazy American who will destroy our planet.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II might save us by revoking independence, but I hope that she doesn’t. I always look forward to 4th July, the biggest feast day in our calendar. It when we can celebrate the anniversary of the day that we freed ourselves of responsibility for our thirteen most troublesome colonies.
