imagine my surprise
when i found out
that the party i was going to tonight
at my sweet irish friend’s house
had already happened last night
and
when i stopped over today
it looked like
a great time was had by everyone
especially those who were there on the right night.
i think this may have been a trifle.

That trifle must have been delicious, disappointment can be a memorable occasion, especially when the remains show that a good time was had by all. Merry Christmas. :o)

Oh dear Beth, at least you arrived in time to wash the dishes 😉
We must have experienced the same time warp. A couple of years ago I woke up with a start from an afternoon siesta. The alarm clock said seven. Panic ! I quickly got ready, present in hand I walked to the evening party venue and became totally confused as the sun was coming up over the mountains. Oh dear, it was 7:30 AM on the day of the party. At least I didn’t miss it as I arrived on time that evening. ❤

Oh no, I am sorry! But why did nobody call you to ask where you are? Anyway, now you can enjoy the good stuff you created with your family!

That would have been actually kind. Sometimes when there is a misunderstanding it turns out as one on all ends!

That would be just my luck to show up in time to do the dishes and miss the whole party but at least i get some of the left overs and some fresh hot coffee or hot tea. Beth at least you still got to visit and catch up right. ❤ ❤

I know you hated missing a great party…I can’t believe that happened…OMG…you must have been SOOOOO surprised. Aw. I’m sorry you missed it. Have a fabulous christmas week…and I hope your sink is never filled with that many dishes at once…especially from the night before. 🙂

I did and I felt really bad, but we had a nice leftovers visit. Thanks for the good dish wish )

Slightly off-topic, but is that a soapstone counter? The missus wants a new kitchen, but Santa is still trying to get the elves to pony up some extra scratch.

I must say I’m a bit surprised that a party hosted by fellow Irish people would have ended as quickly as that!

OMG, this is the way I often “roll,” Beth! I feel very good driving up to where I think I belong and feel, “Oh good! I am ahead of time!” (Then feel dismayed at being late. . .)
My kids have texted me more this past year, “Don’t forget this or that. . .” 😀
