summer’s long and lazy river.

Standard

time well-spent on the longest day.

“and so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, i had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

– f. scott fitzgerald – the great gatsby.

  1. I love when the world comes to life again after winter–so much so that I wrote it into my debut novel. Of course, here in Florida it’s summer for 80% of the year, so there isn’t much of a transition. I miss it sometimes.

  2. My very favorite day of the year. Although the heat wave in the west is a little too much to take, I shan’t complain for Summer is well and truly upon us. The perfect stillness of the river makes the quote by Fitzgerald all the more apt. Love.

  3. I liked this river and how clear it seems! I see individual rocks and the sunlight is shimmering on the surface. Lovely post, very much like water and yesterday’s post was sweet with Neruda poem on “Water.” Azul y verde agua!
