when out for a night
at a wonderful irish pub
with warm company, warm food, and a warm fireplace
we decided to make the crazy leap
to ask for bread
and were looking forward
to a warm basket overflowing
with fresh, crusty bread
image our surprise
when a single 6-inch slice of soda bread
arrived on tiny plate
to be shared between us
we stared at it for a minute
looked at each other
and amazingly
we were able to eat the whole thing.

Haha what a twist… imagining the expression on seeing the bread

This sounds very strange and u had to think, “Only you would make the best of this situation!” I’m hoping this was “only two” in the “we” since it is not very big! 😁

yes, just two, and we both thought it very funny – i think the carb police were out there, protecting us from ourselves )

But did you see all the stars and all the heavens while eating it?

well, it kind of was a church-like setting – stained glass window and an old pew nearby

Oh, how funny, Beth! Imagining the looks on your faces brings smiles. But, yes, I sense a lesson in there somewhere, too. I’m sure you both savored it and made it last as long as possible. 🙂

You guys got the very last piece. What are the odds?
In our house yesterday, Grandma and Granddaughter made soft pretzels. Hot out of the oven they were mmm, good.

i’ll consider it very good luck, then – and the pretzels sound amazing
