is it one of the hottest days of summer?
is it time for our annual
christmas in july/august celebration?
absolutely.
with long-time friends
turkey dinner
wine
christmas cookies
stories
and
odds and ends re-gifts to each other
that we’re highly likely
to re-gift to someone else at a later date
no reason to keep the joy of giving all to ourselves.

Love this notion – true giving and sharing. Not too sure about waltzing with a cockroach though. That might just challenge my quota of human kindness. Happy week, Beth.

This weather makes want to stay in bed. Or maybe it’s our president that has that effect on me.

I love the idea but I’m currently whimpering under the heat and drinking loads of water so a roast dinner is a hard idea to handle. I could skip the dinner and just move the presents of course: I’m always flexible!

that’s awfully good of you, peter. i do think we could persuade you to enjoy a dinner with us, though. all part of the festivities. )

The only time I experienced Christmas in July was when we lived in Australia. It was strange and despite it being winter was still warm. No snow in sight. Hasn’t caught on over here but I live in hope.
