low comma, high drama.

September 24th: National Punctuation Day

* “A celebration of the lowly comma, correctly used quotation marks,

and other proper uses of periods, semicolons, and the ever-mysterious ellipsis.”

National Punctuation Day gives you the opportunity

to dress up your sentences with all kinds of context and accentuation!

Or, take the day to remind yourself what a semicolon actually does.

‘i’m tired of wasting letters when punctuation will do, period.’

*(i may not be qualified to celebrate this holiday,

as i endlessly abuse this system of grammatical organization.)

  1. How I do my best to maintain proper punctuation and grammar in all I write. I’m appalled at how too many young people are not being taught how to write properly. I LOVED what you did with your little drawing. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  2. so glad I missed this – says someone who regularly starts a sentence without capitalising the first letter of the first word and who routinely inserts a hyphen (dash) to separate parts of a sentence to save time pondering over whether a comma or a semi-colon is the correct form of punctuation to use at that point 😆
