all part of one another.

what a totally unexpected and much appreciated kindness:

a sympathy card in the mail

signed by every person in my vet’s office

after helping my pet to pass on peacefully

on my last trip there.

“the whole idea of compassion is based on a keen awareness

of the interdependence of all these living beings,

which are all part of one another, and all involved in one another.”

  1. Oh, Beth … I’m so sorry for your loss. But glad this small act of kindness brought a bit of comfort. Sending you warm thoughts all the way from Minnesota today. ❤

  2. Our vet’s office does that, too. He also makes a small donation in the pet’s name to UGA’s Veterinary Medicine school. It really does help get over the loss of a pet. Sorry to hear about yours (dog, cat or other?).

  3. It’s always harder than you want it to be, but it is our part of that special contract between pet and parent…I thought I wouldn’t survive the loss of my two cats inherited from my mother…and then I got THREE more! Don’t wait in grief…adopting another pet is not replacing the one before; it is a reminder that Life goes on and others desperately need you…
