had to catch an early morning flight
out of the little village of new york city
super shuttle came to the rescue
arriving right on time at 3:20am
picking up 6 other people along the way –
2 young women speaking korean
1 southern man speaking with a heavy twang
1 set of parents who giggled and hummed along with the radio
and their two year old boy
who yelled out ‘woah, man!’
every few mintues for no apparent reason
making everyone laugh over and over
couldn’t have had a better crew to send me off on my way
what a lift.

Laughing with people you don’t yet know is a great way to get to know them. 🙂

2:30am? Eeeks. 😬SO do you actually go to bed and set an alarm for like 1:30 or just stay awake all night?

Going to the New York airport (the bus serves 2) in the shuttle is one of my favorite things!! you get to experience personalities you’d never otherwise know, as if the interior of the minibus is in fact, a little village.

I love the shuttles! Best shuttle I have taken was from the airport in New Orleans to the quaint hotel I had reserved near Bourbon. I was the last person dropped off, so I got the full tour of the festivities. :p

I love this, Beth! How lucky to be with a melting pot of nice people who were once strangers to you and to each other. And, there’s nothing like a funny child saying “whoa man” to bring you all together.
