in sweden, the vast majority of taxpayers just get a document from the government with all the relevant information already filled out. some even get a text message with their prepared tax information.
in the united states, the experience it is quite the opposite.

I had to do mine TWICE this year, because I forgot to include a paltry $200 in freelance income the first time. Sheesh. After that, your post has me considering a move to Sweden. Ha!

Despite the complications, I’m not sure I’d want the government filling our my forms and telling me how much to cough up. I may not like the system, but I’d rather do it myself!
