  1. but seriously, you were NOT REALLY eating all that fatty stuff for BREAKFAST?! I just nearly had to spit out my spittle…. although I like your youngster’s ‘worst’ choice. Can’t add my own as I am not in the habit of eating Hot Dogs and therefore can’t judge their juices 😉

  2. Your Hopkins quotation sent me tracking down the original, which is a poem called “Spring”:

    Nothing is so beautiful as Spring –
    When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;
    Thrush’s eggs look little low heavens, and thrush
    Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring
    The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
    The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
    The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
    With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.

    What is all this juice and all this joy?
    A strain of the earth’s sweet being in the beginning
    In Eden garden. – Have, get, before it cloy,
    Before it cloud, Christ, lord, and sour with sinning,
    Innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy,
    Most, O maid’s child, thy choice and worthy the winning.

  3. I like briney taste too; as a matter of fact…I drink pickle juice enough to order it by the gallon (that’s for a long period of time) 😉🤣🥒 so that I don’t leave our pickles with too little juice. I love olive juice too; although I don’t drink it like I do pickle juice, except during pregnancy (40 years ago) 🤭 just sayin’ 🥰
