on my neighborhood nextdoor site – written by a kind neighbor:
“we found a raccoon in our driveway that looks sad and is not moving.
is there anything we can do about it?”
—
“let us fill our hearts with our own compassion –
towards ourselves and towards all living beings.”

Out of my realm of expertise, Beth. But I don’t think it’s a good sign …

He’d probably love that

On a more alarming note, he could have rabies. I’d have them call Animal Control.

I would call a vet (for advice) or animal control. They aren’t usually out during the day. 😦 I hope he’s okay and just discombobulated and not sickl

Awh, what lovely suggestions you made. Perhaps it got lost or his baby raccoon is missing!

Call a wildlife rescue operation, like the one I volunteer for in Clatsop County, Oregon. Raccoons can be unpredictable and fierce. Don’t feed it. (Well, maybe a glass of wine.) It’s getting to be a hard time of year for any critter. Above all, be careful.

Thanks to the internet, it’s possible to find out if this is something unusual for the animal, or who to contact to come and rescue the animal to keep it safe…I had two raccoons fighting in my backyard once and the smaller animal jumped in our pool to stay safe….did the backstroke for about an hour!
