To tell the whole truth, “spago” also means twine, but in general the word “spaghetto” is used almost only in the sense of “fright”.
“Mi sono preso un bello spaghetto” = ” I’m scared”.
Had we all lived in Ticino, Switzerland ‘then’, we’d all know that!
There is no singular case of spaghetti, although the ‘o’ is evident for just one, has anybody EVER heard of one single spaghetti in any form? This is to change now that talk is about using spaghetti with an opening to use as straws…. 😉
A veritable fountain of knowledge. 🙂

You and spaghetto have started my day. Could you please send a spoon?

Spaghetti are best eaten by twisting a few strands on a fork’s tines, the spoon is not needed 🙂

I defer. No spoon needed for twirling. But that’s the way I was taught and I’m sticking by my mother!😀

We use “spago” or “spaghetto” only as a synonym of “fright” 😀

I knew that graffito is a singular piece of graffiti — though I’ve never heard anyone actually use that word. But I never knew about spaghetto!
