LANSING, Mich. – Michigan is escalating its response to the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
On Thursday night Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the closure of all Michigan K-12 schools, including public, private and boarding, in response to the confirmed cases.
The closures start Monday and will end on April 5, according to officials. Schools are scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 6.
here’s to the educators, support staff, administrators, and families. all working so hard to continue our connection and to share in our partnership of caring for, and teaching their children. in a very short time, i have seen amazing work being done on all sides to support this initiative.
Such challenging times!

absolutely. many companies are letting them work from home and local restaurants and the state are going to provide food for children who normally get most of their food from school

The kids will love working on line. Something different…at least for a little while. LOLOL Teachers have big hearts and never give up. Congrats to you Bet. All the schools are closed here as weill. The chicklets send love to you and Roland. ❤ Lois wanted to visit but her mother won't let her out.

Our school are on spring break. I don’t know if they’ll open afterward. I don’t think they should since who knows where those kids go in the meantime. Plus it’s a lot more pleasant to walk the dogs at the high school when there are no students. 😉

So very challenging. My 19yo son is still going to University but I imagine it won’t be long before they’re all closed and it’ll be online learning. Take care.
