I’ve a friend that I go cruising with …. to places like Fiji, New Zealand, New Caledonia… I’ll always call the Liner a ‘boat’ … but my big mate gets annoyed, and tells me off… “It’s a Ship !! ..Ivor… not a Boat !!…… so over the last few years… just to annoy him even more… I say “Boat”….. he wouldn’t throw me overboard……(would he ??)

    • It’s sideways isn’t it? My kids (interesting we call them baby goats, huh?) starting calling me a GOAT a couple years back. I was like what the heck? To me a goat is a complete insult. “Mom, it’s a compliment” Oh wow… since having kids I’ve had to relearn the meaning of almost every single English word!
