  5. Liberté, égalité, fraternité!
    Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia used to do a Bastille Day Celebration hosted by man dressed as Edith Piaf and someone dressed as Marie Antionette would throw TastyKakes from the top of the prison into the crowd.

  17. That is a phenomenal painting…my wife and I were in Paris years ago and walked right into a massive, “Les Miz” style rally with crowds, colorful flags and a passion for protest…it was exhilarating!

  19. We were in The Netherlands on Bastille Day (30 years ago…!), and I kept trying to talk Mary into taking the train into Paris, but she said no, that it’s wild in Paris on Bastille Day. I think she was just worried I’d start talking like Pepe LePew…
