when walking downtown
this just sitting on a corner
no palm trees to be found
i wonder
if you are missing your coconut
did you leave it behind
did you lose it
and not notice?

Beth, you never fail to make me smile, chuckle, laugh out loud! How on earth do you always find a quote to your unusual photos?! You’re the best. Wishing you a happy Saturday.

It’s just like finding the odd thing out in the world, they are just waiting to be found. You too )

I wonder if the person who kept it there actually lost it or left it there purposefully for you to find! haha! Amazing that you found a suitable quote too!

A funny thing to lose–but my daughter actually buys coconuts as dog toys, so. . . 😀

A perfectly paired photo and quote, Beth, as always! That quote is priceless. That photo would be a great story prompt for you gifted storytellers out there. How did our lonely coconut end up here?

I think we all occasionally find objects in incongruous places. I remember in 1967 finding a disembodied doll’s head on the ground in a small town in the mountains of Honduras. I picked it up and had someone hold it in his hand so I could make a strange portrait.

Oh, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve misplaced a coconut. No, wait…I meant my sunglasses.

LOLOLOL That’s so funny. It is possible that it escaped from a bag and is trying to find a way to freedom. In it’s bid for autonomy it may have rolled as far as it could. The journey over, it waits, to be rescued by loving hands.

maybe the question should be what happened to the palm tree that used to be there… 🙂

I love finding things that are “out of place” – because how they got where they are is a mystery for the ages!

I like the story and just wonder how it ever got there. It’s a mystery and I would be tempted to think it might be a signal from one person to another, the meaning of which is only known between themselves !!

One day my bro and I were walking to school and there on a hill beside the road was a bowling ball. Just like that, so we picked it up and took it to school. What else could we do?
