and who could possibly resist
looking deeper into
most anything deemed
‘used and unusual’?
both rich qualities
rife with stories and possibility
many of us could be described this very same way
after having lived a while
and comfortably settling into
what makes us who we really are.

“it’s also not unusual for writers to look backward. because that’s your pool of resources.”
-paul mcCartney
New is overrated. Give me “used and unusual” any day! History is the depth of a thing.

The opposite sounds so boring too: ‘new and usual’. Though it also doesn’t make sense in my head. How could something truly new also be ‘usual’?

ah, an interesting way to look at it –

Thinking about it ‘usual’ is probably harder to manage than the alternative. It must take a special kind of effort to become predictable. Imagine choosing that… 😛

Who would have thought that McCartney would say something so deep?

Used and Unusual—smart business savvy right there. I know you have an appreciation for words, Beth. Savvy is an unusual-looking word. I can’t think of any other words with consecutive v’s.

I’m definitely used and my hubs would agree I’m “unusual”:) This was a fun post.
