We have to go through the Coast Range to get to Portland today. The last trip, the vine maples were going red and the alders gold. I’m hopeful about today, even in the rain.
We are slipping in this year and I’m so happy about that. It’s not a slam into two days of fall and then snow. It’s nice to be able to enjoy it everyday. 🙂
here down under we’re slipping from winter to spring: we start this season, if you’;ll excuse the pun, with a spring in our step: perhaps that’s why they call it ‘Spring’ 🙂
Beautiful post, Beth, except now the new fire season has hijacked that wonderful anticipation of the cooler weather and golden hues. But I still bring out the fall decorations. Joy has to overpower any dread. Sigh…
Cool fall breezes paint our world in every color of the rainbow. How can you not love autumn?

My favorite season, but “nothing gold can stay” either. Enjoy! As for me, I’m heading to the mountains with my camera.

I love fall as soon as I accepted that summer is over. I love the transition of the colors and their brightness.
