i’m proud of my country – it dared to do both.

today, as i walked downtown,

the kerrytown bells played ‘the star spangled banner’

cars honked

church bells rang

farmers at the market chattered

drummer drummed

people cheered, cried, laughed

fireworks shot off in yards

the air was light and it was electric.

  8. Yep, half of the country is overwhelmed with joy!!
    Even the Laughing Buddha Stone sculpture at the gardens I was walking looked exceptionally happy! 🤣😀😊😃
    It feels good to breathe easy again!!

  17. Beautiful. It was something. Here, no one did anything. It’s too much Trump territory, but in this little house Bear worried because I was crying a LOT and I was so preoccupied and emotional that I left the butter out all night without a lid on it. I had no idea how tied up I have been with the dominion of evil. Their speeches were beautiful and seeing happy people in the crowd instead of angry people was unreal. ❤ Yay us.

  20. I loved seeing and reading about all these celebrations that took place yesterday. People are excited about the change, and I wish Joe and Kamala the best.

    And Joe certainly dared to win by running for a third time after two unsuccessful bids for President.

  27. This is the first time I’ve felt optimistic in a long time. I loved every word that Harris and Biden said. I talked to at least three different people today who said their little girls want to be like Kamala Harris.
