  1. The Rotary Henley on Todd Regatta is a fun, quirky and eclectic ‘boat’-racing festival held annually on the dry sandy bed of the Todd River in downtown Alice Springs, Northern Territory – the only dry river boating regatta in the world. Attendees compete in ‘boat’-races Flintstones-style, holding a metal frame and running for the finish line.

  2. Brings back a lot of great memories. We had a big hill by our house where I grew up—sleds and toboggans in the winter and cardboard sliding in most other times of the year.

  3. Boxes are the best toys ever invented.
We kids kept an eye out for big appliance boxes. One of the neighbors bought a washer and dryer, we stole the boxes, blew out the ends, flattened the corners and they became “tanks.” Each “tank” held two of us as we crawled, the goal being to roll over the opposing tank.
