  1. I love this post, especially because it reminds me of a plant I also had, which didn’t bloom for approx 8 years, until, all of a sudden, magnificent shades of red burst into colour. Powerful message to never give up.

  4. Aren’t orchids amazing? I do think you’re right – the less attention we pay them, the better they do. I have one that I inherited after my Dad died, and it never fails to have blooms every year around his birthday. We had a glorious stem all through Christmas, and as I picked off the old blossoms what did I see but a new stem growing off the old one! Hope springs eternal.
