saw the spirit of liberty yesterday
her return was lovely
yet she was there all along
never really left
there was just no stopping her.

Lady Liberty is a strong and proud woman. She can be curtailed, but never vanquished in the hearts of the people. I find myself basking in the glow of a promising new world!

yes, that is the feeling here too, did you see/hear our young poet laureate who spoke at the inauguration? just 22 years old and amazing

Frankly, that parade of flags with the music reminded me of a scene from a movie about the Roman Empire.

Okay. I finally relaxed. We have a real President and his behavior is presidential. Great concept.

The going’s going to be tough for a while. I wouldn’t want the job of righting so many messes, but I believe things will just keep getting better.

Ah…hope bloomed yesterday. We just have to water it and make sure no one steps on it.

sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we are free…there is a beautiful quote by Rumi that says: Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open?
Thank you for your beautiful writing

Tears of joy yesterday. I was mesmerized by Amanda’s poem. I especially appreciated Amy Klobachur’s brief history about the Capitol dome and how she intertwined it with the recent events.

Such a fitting tribute for the day. Young and old spoke well (the poet laureate was a real inspiration) and Lady Gaga did a beautiful job of supplying some pomp and ceremony to make up for the additional protocols. There were so many of us cheering from here above the 49th parallel- maybe you heard us? Welcome back.

Congratulations with a new and better future. I think the reactions world wide says it all (although there are still too many people unfathomably supporting what was).
