a thousand delicate joys.

“walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things.

it is the one way of freedom.

if you go to a place on anything but your own feet

you are taken there too fast,

and miss a thousand delicate joys

that were waiting for you by the wayside. “

  1. In recent years I’ve not wanted to walk much. Whether it was the mandatory mask or the alligators in the bayou on my husband’s favorite trail or the loneliness I felt when I walked alone and everyone else in the park was two by two. This poem gives me a new way to look at walking and so thanks for sharing, Beth xo

  2. So did you know that Canadian Geese (as pictured) mate for life. The males do a lot of sitting on the eggs. They’re very protective of each other. They make a frikken terrible mess in a park. xo
