i’ve always loved movies of all kinds
and seeing this poster
brought back warm memories of watching
every western, wwII movie, and screwball comedy on tv
with my dad on lazy saturday afternoons.

We never know what will become the fondest memories for our children. But if you spend time with them and share of yourself, they are bound to find a few. Great post, Beth!

I love this! Love that you have those wonderful memories. I have similar ones with my dad. This movie was one that we watched over and over again. A few years ago, it was one that was shown in theaters as part of some classic movie promotion. I had already introduced my sons to this movie, but what a joy it was to take them to the theater and watch it on the big screen! Wonderful memories!!

loved this film and many others like it; TV in the sixties and seventies when we were growing up was a golden age; two of my favourites was ‘The 39 Steps’ and ‘The Ghost and Mrs, Miniver’.both in glorious B & W 🙂

ooops; I’m glad no one spotted the error: should be ‘The Ghost and Mrs. Muir’ —

Each of us have that one special moment or two that is hard to explain to others. It gives us joy and comfort. But at the same time a bit of sadness can creep into the nostalgia. We close the memories and put them away for another day.
The world according to this lady anyway. 😉

A year or two back, I took this one out from the library so Karen and I could watch it together, Beth, bringing back memories of our childhood for both of us. The madcap lives still!

With that title, are you sure it’s not a modern-day movie?

Do you remember the days when all the networks had at least one, and in some cases two or three, movie nights? They showed some really good ones, too. I saw “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” on a Friday night years ago, and ABC had some fantastic movies on Sunday night…

I own that on a special edition Dvd with a bunch of extras…it’s not perfect to be sure, but what a fun way to spend a few hours and have some mindless fun!

I remember it’s a mad mad world from my childhood. It was playing at a theater that had a special screen. I can’t remember what that screen was called. It provided a near 3-D experience. I have such great memories Of seeing that film and also of my childhood at that time. “Thanks for the memories.”
