an ever-evolving downtown public installation
of personal hopes and dreams
yet to be lived
how would you fill in the blank?
—
“the ninety and nine are with dreams, content
but the hope of the world made new,
is the hundredth man who is grimly bent
on making those dreams come true.”
-edgar allan poe
I used to have a bucket list but it got shorter and shorter the longer I lived 🙂

same – less things to do, priorities change and experiences become more meaningful

I like that answer, Beth; to be in the moment, as Buddha would say, otherwise you miss your life —

Is this in Ann Arbor? Wow. I have a ton of things I could list. Visit Italy is near the top. It seems lately I have been forced to realize just how precious every day is, and how tomorrow is never promised. I would hope that each day I make a difference in some small way ….

it is Ann Arbor and I think many of us have headed in this direction

Dreams of the heart …
“I’m yet to fly in space
Like the brave Neil Armstrong
But I have reached for the stars
And touched my soul’s dreams”

A great reminder that hopes and dreams have a shelf life.

I love this idea! I don’t know yet, but I’ll think what is the most pressing desire that I want to fulfill before I die. The quote is so fitting.

It may be simplistic but: before I die I want to live.

That is so wonderful, Beth. Creating the dreams as realities each moment, one by one…everyday. Quote is stunning.

…. to have lived.
Quite frequently, one of the sayings on a wall of the university jumps to my mind. It said: Is there a life before death?…

Great Poe quote. All the answers are thought-provoking, but the three words, “Before I die,” is the most inapiring of all.

Hmmm. This requires contemplation. But perhaps publish a book or submit paired poems and poetry for a gallery installation. This is one of the most unique public art forms I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing this.

I love public art. I think it’s wonderful, bring communities together and making people see that we aren’t all that different from each other.

A great thought by one of my favourite American writers. I wouldn’t write anything there Pat. Life is a cabaret, so all I want to do is dance! 🕺🏿

I think I’ve pretty much completed my bucket list. I have a few quilt projects I still want to see completed but the big things in life are accomplished. I’d like to write my memoirs if there is still time. Who knows.
