the kinder celebrated the lunar new year
with a fierce painting of a chinese dragon
who will keep us all safe
woody the groundhog was scheduled to emerge this morning
on groundhog day
to predict how much longer winter will stick around
but..
we are now-
about to be hit with a MAJOR snowstorm.
—
it’s truly a week
to celebrate things
big and small.
—
in honor of groundhog day:
“what fresh hell is this?!”
-woody the groundhog
—
in honor of the lunar new year:
“so comes snow after fire, and even dragons have their ending!”
– j.r.r. tolkien
—
in honor of the snow:
“snow day, bring it!”
-beth kennedy
Stay safe in that snow day!

Enjoy your snow day. We are preparing for an ice day. I would MUCH rather have snow! AND dragons!

i agree with you! and the groundhog may come out when the storm is over

Well…..I’m not surprised…..I think the ice storm with the snow still falling here is a good indicator….

Be safe out Michigan way, Beth. That big storm is tracking toward us. No escaping it, the weather folks and groundhogs say.

I can feel the temp dropping and can see the rain ready to change to snow right now, Beth.

The last few years have felt like a groundhog day. At least the movie.

Speaking of snow days and the lunar new year, I saw on television last night that some people are agitating to add the lunar new year as yet another national holiday.

The big storm missed us, so perhaps Woody should have hung out in Wisconsin today. I hope he eventually predicts an early spring because I think most of the country is ready for it.

he really should have and I hope so too!

Stay warm and safe… We’re all bracing for a storm tomorrow. Low key panicking but I’d like to think it will all be okay.

So, if the prediction is happening later, does that mean that the time until winter ends would be later too 🤔😂

we’ll have to ask the groundhog that )

Bracing for another cold icy day or two here. Last year about this time Texas had a brutal week of misery. The weather was not at fault! Something with the power grid (don’t understand). No water or elec.
A neighbor filled barrels and jugs and buckets etc from his pool and rolled it around to all of us….for our personal needs. I still have shelves of bottled water.
I know it was not as bad as up north, but a Feb. not to be forgotten.

Snowed all night here in Denver, and is still snowing lightly. Nine whole degrees. Definitely a snow day.

Fair to say after this week’s storm, nature could ease up on the gas pedal. Even the snow shovels are getting buried. Cute post (as found on an Evil Squirrel post). Happy Saturday.
