on the first of three days
of parent-teacher conferences
at the end of just our second family meeting
one of us
(names are unimportant)
closed the conference
with a friendly goodbye –
“have a great weekend!”
only to
glance up
noticing
it was actually
tuesday at 10:02am.
almost there….

One of the many great things about being retired is that I no longer have that ‘waiting for the weekend’ feeling. (Mind you, I worked shifts as an EMT or for the police for most of my life, usually only getting one weekend off in each month.)
Best wishes, Pete.

apparently, we already had one foot in the weekend mindset

The timing is a bit early, but it stills sounds better than “Have a great Tuesday afternoon!”

Maybe that was a Freudian slip? I always say “have a great rest of your week” so unless it’s a Saturday evening, it doesn’t sound too weird.

Every day is a weekend when you’re retired. 🙂
But no guarantee they’ll all be great. 😦

At least you didn’t say “love you!” I walked out of the lab where I worked the other day and called that over my shoulder like I was leaving home. 😳

I’ve had to ask what day it is. I’m okay with that. I usually know the date because of my daily writing, but the day? Not always.

I get it. Same page. Four year old Elijah will be with grandma and grandpa every day and night next week. Should be an “experience” each day. By mid-morning we’ll feel like it’s bedtime.

A remark like that would really confuse me. I often have to check my watch, computer, or pillbox to know for sure what day it is.

It’s so neat how you use our “human” moments to share with always the perfect quote and pic! Have a great weekend, Beth! (I had to,…because I’m usually the one slipping it up or saying, “I love you!” oops! Maybe I don’t? Well, I do,. But not in THAT way) 🤍
