  1. There is NOTHING in the Constitution that calls for the restriction of human rights…the separation of church and state was designed for a reason – one that has been trampled on. Just the fact that women didn’t have the right to vote until the 1900’s, and states were allowed to segregate population based on skin color until the 1960’s are stains on our nation’s history…the “land of the free” also means equal.

  8. The rights of the people should not be in the hands of non-elected judges, especially those appointed by the least popular and least voted presidents. It’s time that rights be protected and codified into laws, not exist as judicial decisions that can be overturned by activist, radical, extreme right wing judges.

  16. I don’t know this country any more. Yesterday was so strange and then I had to go read poetry and give people a good time. I was a basket case in a way. But we need the other side, too, the happy stories of nature and beauty. I don’t know how my listeners (save one) felt about what the much less than Supreme Court handed down yesterday. I’m sure some were happy, some were not, some probably didn’t even know about it. For me? I just thought of all the young women I taught and counseled over the years some whose very lives and futures depended on a decision no one wants to make. Few of them chose to have an abortion, but it was important that the choice was theirs to make.

    That’s the thing these F*&^s don’t seem to understand. NO ONE wants an abortion. I was about to support and vote for a guy here in CO until he was speaking in a townhall and it was clear he considered abortion a form of birth control. He did not get my vote and he got my contempt.

  18. Others warned that this could happen, but I naively thought it never would. It feels like we stepped back about 100 years as a “progressive” society.

  21. YES. It’s awful that we don’t have a lot of noble people in positions of power that make decisions for everyone. If people lie in their job interview they’re usually fired … it’s so awful.

  22. What really gets to me is that ONE WOMAN decided she had the right to decide for every other woman on this issue. This didn’t just come from men. It’s an issue of church and state and feeling like one group has to right to decide for all of us. I would not easily choose abortion and refused one 50 years ago but it was my choice to make and I would never decide for someone else. I am inflamed by this.
