The Patron Saint of Second Chances
a debut novel by Christine Simon
—
on my weekday commutes to school
i listen to quite a few books
and this
was the first one in a long time
that had me laughing out loud while driving
while i may have looked a bit crazy
it was so worth it for the belly laughs
all from this book
set in a small italian village
filled with larger than life, passionate, eccentric characters
who you will absolutely fall in love with
a community who finds a way
where no path is clear
using the power of optimism, love, and fate
(along with a few pleas to obscure patron saints)
to overcome all obstacles.
you simply will not want this beautiful story to end.
bella.

I love seeing drivers who are laughing or singing behind the wheel. I also love being the driver laughing or singing behind the wheel. Enjoy.

It’s a long time since I had a good laugh whilst driving. Make the most of that opportunity when it happens. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Let laughter start your day
Let a smile guide your way
Keep doom and gloom at bay
And you’ll never go astray

Sounds like a good book. I think laughing is better than crying, which I’ve done a few times while driving and listening to an audiobook.

I enjoy some good belly laughs. I am also thinking of trying an audio book. I just…haven’t yet. I think it would be a treat.

Laughter is such a good emotion. I feel like I need to laugh more in the seriousness and challenges and discord of life.

Unfortunately, I decided some years ago that I see better when I’m not listening to something. Go figure.

I think laughing in the car is good. I did it today. The radio played “in a Gadda da Vida” and that has to crack anyone up.

If it’s funny, I’m all in. Read all of Janet Evanovich and Mary Marks 9 book series. Hysterical. WE need more laughter right now. Maybe always. I’ll look for it and I’m another one that can’t listen to anything while driving. Need every brain cell to get there.
