that is awesome Beth, i would not have thought of that. Well done and obviously novel enough it captured the attention of your students. They look like they are adding color to the snow – what was the assigned task?
Trays are one of the best miracles ever! Mushing is mandatory for good learning. All sorts of knowledge and skills being gained here. Real learning is messy by design.
Couldn’t have said it better if I tried! How ya holdin’ up with all the snow??? I’ve been praying for it OUT HERE, but I think I need to send God a “gps”, ‘cuz we’re headed for the 70’s this week! Oh well…. 🙂
Fun times, Beth! You are so wonderful with your photographs. Someday, maybe we will get together and you may enjoy some of my classroom activities which were captured as ‘old school’ polaroid photos. Once in awhile, we would take them to get developed from my own camera. Usually paid by me, since school was on a rather tight budget. In winter, we used our water tables and tubs for this sort of play, using our farm equipment of tractors and trucks. The idea of food coloring or using watercolor paint which would come off the kids’ hands never occurred to me.
This post brought back some good memories and gave me a new one to try with the grandies, Beth! Thanks!
I remember being in the hospital during winter here in Minnesota and they brought piles and piles of snow in for all of us sick children to play with. It was a good time.
