yeti and olive – one waves hello, one nods goodbye
“nature is forever arriving and forever departing, forever approaching, forever vanishing;
but in their vanishings there seems to be ever the waving of a hand,
in all her partings a promise of meeting farther along the road.”
-richard le gallienne – english poet
while visiting my niece’s school
in the beautiful woods of northern michigan
i realized that it wouldn’t be
a real end of their school year goodbye
without a bear to see them off.
“but of course, it isn’t really good-bye, because the forest will always be there…
and anybody who is friendly with bears can find it.”

after an up and down week

had just the right message.
