sirens blaring
phone blowing up
with alarms
take cover
take cover
tv buzzing
if you can
see this
or
hear this
take cover
take cover
so
i went to
my bathtub
safest spot in my cottage
and
rode out
the storm
relaxing
and
blogging
and
reading
and
listening
to music
and
my daughter
texted me
to say
‘that’s exactly how you’d like to go, isn’t it?’
and
i had to agree
and
i kept
my laptop
and
my head
above water
and
all the while
something like this
was going on outside
but inside
all was calm

Great tub! And I also love storms -as long as i’m safe. Nice strategy Beth.

Thanks for this post. Now I’m trying to decide whether to go outside for a walk or take a bath. For a change, it’s not storming outside.

I love the Frank Lane quote, Beth. How true it is and hard to remember in stressful times. Nice poetry.

I so agree but I have had time for a bath in decades. Doesn’t that sound awful? I a shower and go kind of gal but like unwinding in a soothing tub.

Sometimes you just have to circle the wagons! Love the idea of just letting the cares melt away in the tub! 🙂

I spent 14 days in an armoured vehicle, out on patrol in Vietnam in the middle of a Typhoon beth. I’ve never been so wet in all my life. I think I had mushrooms growing in my ears. I would have loved your bath. 🙂

The days were absolutely terrible and the nights were worse. It seems every insect that lived in the jungle canopy decided to get into the inside of the vehicle, and your sleeping bag.

yes beth but it made me who I am today: old, miserable and arthritic. 🙂 🙂

See I’d be splashing about in the water so much that I’d flood the floor, it would then ruin the floorboards,…. But ahh what a nice way to be …your way I mean 💙

I’m very excited that you have the perfect spot to avoid the green clouds, Beth. Physically and mentally. That storm dares not harm the Cottage nor a hair on your’ head.
