you can find peace amidst the storms that threaten you. – joseph b. wirthlin

Standard

bath-salt-relaxing

sirens blaring

phone blowing up

with alarms

take cover

take cover

tv buzzing

if you can

see this

or

hear this

take cover

take cover

so

i went to

my bathtub

safest spot in my cottage

laptop-in-tub

and

rode out

the storm

relaxing

and

blogging

and

reading

and

listening

to music

and

my daughter

texted me

to say

‘that’s exactly how you’d like to go, isn’t it?’

and

i had to agree

and

i kept

my laptop

and

my head

above water

and

all the while

something like this

was going on outside

but inside

all was calm

green-sky2

if you want to see the sunshine,

you have to weather the storm.

  1. I spent 14 days in an armoured vehicle, out on patrol in Vietnam in the middle of a Typhoon beth. I’ve never been so wet in all my life. I think I had mushrooms growing in my ears. I would have loved your bath. 🙂
