joyful young scientist
teaching and demonstrating
for even younger scientists
ends his hands-on physics and chemistry lessons
with a show-stopper
a fog-shooting cannon
crafted from a garbage can
and the crowd realizes how much they love science
and simply cannot get enough.

That was me when I first saw a unique showing by Dupont. I know I stood there as a kid, with my mouth wide open!!

Having lived in Wilmington DE for a time, I know about Dupont and his amazing science with big booms and chemistry. Yes, mouth wide open.

My parents grew up friends with Arthur Smith, who became Vice Pres. of Finance for Dupont – way back in the dinosaur days!!
And then as I got older, I ended up working for the 3 grandchildren of Dupont here in Florida – small world, eh?!!

WOW, that is a small world. Dupont was such a great company for a great many people back in the day. In the splendid times, I’d have dinner with my parents in The Green Room at the Dupont Hotel – ahhh, reminiscent of olden “high society” times.

My daughter is a 6th grade science teacher and does ‘cool experiments’ like this and others with her students. The mouths open wide, and I swear she’s inspired many a young girl to become a scientist.
