“haiku” in Japanese
seattle oceanographer, gregory johnson distills his 2,220 page report on climate change into a series of haiku.
Wisdom alone is the science of other sciences. – Plato
glaciers and ice sheets
melt worldwide, speed increasing
sea ice, snow retreat
This world, after all our science and sciences, is still a miracle wonderful, inscrutable,
magical and more, to whosoever will think of it.

I find it interesting how so much is kept silent about what we a humans are doing and have done to our planet. Honestly I find it to be very disturbing the amount of irreversible damage we’ve done.

markbialczak, so agree with your comment. We have been given a gift – we treat it with disrespect, like an entitled child with too many toys. We use it, abuse it and toss it aside, unappreciative of the Maker and Designer of it all.

I just think at it this way, what gift could we give the next generation? The gift of awareness……clean air and a choice to see the world in all its beauty. Hoping the children of the future can appreciate and protect what is left and what we are failing to do, hoping there will be something left…love the artwork.

I love the miracles quote. I think we are so lucky to have what we have, now we need to really try harder to keep it! I liked the cute drawing, too, Beth! Smiles, Robin

We have a friend who is a scientist. Global warming is cyclical. While there maybe a few things humans have done to change the world. In the great scheme of things there is really quite little humans have done or can do to alter what will naturally be.
The Einstein quote is wonderful. Now if more people could also be as wise as Plato.

We wash and maintain our cars, follow washing instructions on our clothes, and even put clips on our potato chip bags. It shouldn’t be too much to ask to look after the planet we live on, too.
