“in the time it takes to say ‘now,’ now is already over.
it’s already ‘then.’ ‘then’ is the opposite of ‘now.’
so saying ‘now’ obliterates its meaning,
turning it into exactly what it isn’t.”
-ruth ozeki, a tale for the time being

my life’s interpretation of the above passage from ruth’s beautiful book :
by the time i get my clocks reset,
the time will change back again to the time it was when i started
like it never happened
until it happens again.

daylight saving time has arrived once again

Thanks for making me think of this timeless Rolling Stones song on this spring ahead day, Beth.

Funny thing about this post, Beth — I didn’t realize Daylight Savings Time had arrived this morning until is now…or then. Then again!😎 Now will never be the same.

Dark Helmet and Col. Sandurz have a very similar (and hilarious) exchange to your quote in the movie Spaceballs…

The entire west coast is contemplating no more time changes. Hawaii’s already there. Most of Arizona, too. There are bills moving through legislatures in CA, OR, and WA. I think we’ll see it happen fairly soon.

I agree about the longer days and wish they would just leave it this way all year round

In Oregon they are working to pass a law to do away with DST. Fine by me.
