Haha… now you have got me being nerdy.. I just check Geelong’s ..sunrise was 7.22am .. sunset 7.34pm… and here at 8.45pm it’s still a balmy 23’C, (73’F)… Cheers from downunder…
I would be more worried about that ‘moderate’ air quality…. is it that bad?
You know, once again I’m ever so glad that I don’t want to/have to know IT ALL…. what I don’t know (such as air quality) doesn’t burden me unnecessarily.
In what context did J. Wayne quote this? A movie? – I feel we’re burnin’ our life span, too often!
I’m glad for you – and I have to say it: Although I don’t know the location of your home place, I LOVE the name, every time I read it, I smile. Ann Arbor = I think ‘Anne’ and ‘Harbour’….. 🙂
thanks, and the name came from the original settlers of the town, two men whose wives were both named ann, and the huge amount of trees, thus arbor. Ann Arbor. and it has lived up to its name with tons of parks and green spaces.
love these quirky coincidences. I wonder how many people checked their weather app after reading this post. I know I did… Mine was not quite in balance, I might have missed it…
It’s called Spring Equinox, as others have pointed out. Interestingly enough over here (in Norway) it’s supposed to be the 20th this year, aka tomorrow. 🙂
As a kid I was a huge fan of westerns. I think “burnin’ daylight” was pretty common among movie cowboys. Kind of like “Howdy, podnuh.” Or “hankerin'” to do something. Hollywood cowboy talk. I’ve no idea if cowboys really talked like that.
Great to find out where one of my favorite quotes came from. Wonder if someone wrote it for him in a script? I write down those nerdy statistics every day in my morning pages. I pay extra attention to the air quality these days. Perfect balance is a rare thing. 😉 Enjoy the day.
You are a clever statistics girl…. these are not the sort of things I notice…

🤗 Wayne’s words were often used by my late husband. Never knew where the quote came from! I should have guessed! 😉

no, moderate is not bad with regard to air quality – his character said it in his movie -‘the cowboys.’

That John Wayne quote is from the Cowboys, isn’t it? We love his movies.

I think it originated from Shakespeare, though not quite said the same way as the cowboys, that had a special feel to it )

Burning daylight! My dad would say that all the time, and he is a big John Wayne fan. Now I wonder if that’s where he got that from.
