“i’m a great believer in poetry out of the classroom, in public places,
on subways, trains, on cocktail napkins.
i’d rather have my poems on the subway than around the seminar table at an mfa program.”

I’m a great believer in poetry being omnipresent as street signs or graffiti 🙂 they are the words of the people !!!

Gang graffiti, tagging, and such is just vandalism but there are some truly talented artists out there adding color and beauty to our public spaces. I’m amazed by what can be created with a spray can of paint, not the most precise tool.

I agree…creativity…no matter how they try and outlaw it…it can’t be held back. That’s a wonderful thing.

So true, my friend. Growing up, I new people in LA that created such wondrous art all over the city. Intoxicatingly beautiful. That quote, superb.

I don’t think taffeta get enough credit for their artistic abilities.
