LEGO is launching a botanical collection for serial plant killers.

LEGO’s products aren’t just for kids. Last year, the company dedicated an entire section of its website to adult customers, featuring more complex sets that clock in at thousands of pieces. The latest collection caters to builders who are all grown up—though maybe not grown enough to keep plants alive on their own.

As designboom reports, the Botanical Collection from LEGO reimagines flowers, succulents, and bonsai trees as plastic brick sculptures. The elaborate sets hold their own against the living plants you might find at your local nursery. The “potted” flowers in the line include the elegant white orchid and the vibrant Bird of Paradise. Once you’re done building, the 756-piece flower bouquet set is ready to be displayed in a real vase of your choosing (no water required).

For the meditative effects of growing a bonsai tree without the shears, try assembling LEGO’s plastic version. And if you prefer low-maintenance plants even when they’re fake, the Botanical Collection includes a colorful succulent display. The cost of the LEGO plants is comparable to the real thing, and if you have a black thumb, they may be a better investment. Prices range from $10 for a few flowers to $100 for the largest potted plants.

  11. I am not horrible with houseplants in general, but I get tired of and lazy when it comes time to pamper them. I have a succulent right now that I’ve had for over 6 months and I still enjoy it, so that’s a statement in and of itself. With my lack of patience, I wonder if I’d get frustrated trying to put one of these together??

  13. What a great idea. Marketing to those kids who played with LEGOS and who are now adults. In my opinion, LEGOS are one of the best toys ever invented. My son played with them all the time, creating his own designs. I have totes full of his LEGOS in a spare bedroom closet.

  15. I had no idea. That’s a great idea! Still, adults love LEGO too (my son just put a huge and working racing car together) but there now they are talking to those adults that like to create and decorate… really great!

  19. I haven’t played with Lego since showing my youger cousins how to use it in the late 1960s. But my grandson and his dad love the more complicated sets. They are SO expensive now, but bring hours of constructive and educational fun.

  25. fascinating article; you may not be aware of this, Beth, but we have a show here called ‘Lego Masters’ where contestants vie for the top prize by building innovative, mind boggling sets; I used to like it a lot but it has become loud and showy —
