he is a joy to have in my room. he likes to quietly come in, not make a big deal about it, but always dressed as a character with things from his closet, and his mom helps him find things to use as accessories, love his confidence and passion

he just likes to show up at school each day, as a different character, and not costumes, he uses things in his closet and his mom helps him find accessories. he is under the radar about it, but confident, and someday will be involved in the creative arts, I’m pretty sure

A sweet beast, indeed. I’m smiling because my post tomorrow also talks about a beast – but one of a different nature. :-)

Such a sweet picture of someone whose beast is cuter than he knows.

this guy is amazing. every day, he comes into my room, under the radar, but dressed as a character. he doesn’t get costumes, picks pieces of clothes from his or his sib’s closet, puts them together and asks his mom to help with accessories. just sits down like nothing and the class is happy to see him whoever he is that day, and he is a marvel.

Are we getting close to Halloween yet?

no, this little guy is just a bit of an eccentric already at age 3. he comes into my room each day, dressed as something, always unannounced and I have to try to figure it out. he just uses real clothes from his and his sister’s closet, and asks his mom to help with accessories he needs. one time he had her use a wide marker to draw a black zig-zag line on a yellow t-shirt he had so he could be Charlie Brown. do 3 year olds know Charlie Brown? do they notice the details? are they brave enough to wear their version of his outfit in his classroom and just sit down in character and never mention it? if you were to see him, you’d picture him as a strong athletic type, and he is, and dad was a hockey player, but his heart is in drama and he’s clearly confident and passionate about it. when he saw his shadow of the beast, he was taken aback. all this is why I so love him, this gentle giant.

So wonderful when youngsters are encouraged to explore their own personal eccentricities!

Ha! I support big eccentrics in theory but sometimes not so much in practice!
